Have red pen, will travel. Know what’s new and “cool” in HR ads? Whiskers. And taupe. Stock photos are still in vogue. Don’t you worry.

For whatever reason, I can’t get over the white on white combination on the woman in the Mercer (and Madison- how embarrassing) ad. Bad writing… and bad stylist!

Tracy…yeah, I don’t get the white on white…or the entire neutral color thing…especially because those people were used later by Mad!son…too funny that the same “cool” stock art was used in the same mag. Oops.

All bad on those two.

One initial thought I had…and I’m going to look for this…how much you wanna bet this is styled for a tampon/maxi pad ad? I know that’s bad, but where else do you see women dressed in white on white?

Maybe she was used multiple shoots for the day… so strange! I guess you get what you pay for.

I worked with Mercer in my old corporate life- they did some consulting for us. Based on the rates they charge, I know that they could afford a real photo shoot. It boggles my mind why a company would pay to place ads in one of these publications (not cheap by any means) but invest so little in the actual ad. I bet the ROI is so little, too, but everyone is just so used to doing what they’ve always done, no one is being strategic. Such a waste. That’s cash that could be spent on investing in their people.
