Employee Engagement Tip of the Day: Take Pictures
Nov 12We take tons of pictures at our shop. It’s super fun, and I think pictures bond people. The cool thing about pictures is that you can look at them later and say, “Yeah, I was there.” It’s fun to look back and remember together.
I don’t think people take many pictures at work in cubicle farms. We live a third of our life at work — and it’s invisible. After thirty years and a gold watch, what’s there to show? How about a few snapshots? Do you take pictures at work?
Here’s a few of the iFractal gang…we always have a camera or video going.
A Rainy Day Under Our Umbrellas

Peter-Mark in a Polaroid (we had a few rolls of old film and started snapping one day)

Furley Says “Hello World” (we have a cool video coming soon about this)

Hanging Out on Couches on Spruce Street (don’t ask..okay, you can ask)

Did you know? There are 1.2 million digital images in the Library of Congress. You can see some super cool ones here.

I’m engaged!
@Sarah, Congratulations! Hey, you even let us take your picture now.
There always bad days or bad periods of time, even in the best places to work.
Pictures of the good times: lunchtime social events, gathering to eat cake for a baby/wedding shower, service award presentations, etc. allow you to look back & helps to alleviate the heavy times. Good organizations not only provide positive outlets, they document them as well. It helps keep work in perspective.
