- Cut a meeting in half.
- Eat lunch with someone who isn’t in HR.
- Question what kinds of behaviors your bonus plans encourage.
- Look up the word “ombudsman.” Then, be one.
- Learn about one critical thing your company does to make money.
- Encourage all your employees to wear seatbelts — in their cars, taxis, or limos.
- Read up on EFCA.
- Think about what project you’re working on that should be spiked.

I’ve been drooling over the list presented by E a while back. Some of these items are definitely on MY list.

Another way to be bold in HR today is to get involved in online networking with other HR pros. It gives you the freedom to strategize, to discuss ideas, to challenge ideas, and to be challenged. Amazing tool for HR to grow our knowledge.
