Union Bosses Soak Up the Sun at the Fountainbleu to Talk About EFCA
Mar 10The Workforce Fairness Institute created a new video that’s very interesting. It shows AFL-CIO union bosses soaking up the sun (and union dues) at the Fountainnbleu Hotel. (Seriously, click that link. Check that place out.) Discussion topic: EFCA.
One big item raised in organizing is the issue of being “represented.” I wonder how rank-and-file union people feel about their union dues getting used at the Fountainbleu.
Oh…today Congressman George Miller (D-CA) and Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA) introduced the Employee Free Choice Act to Congress. Getting ready yet, folks?

C’mon now, are you serious? Do you really want to start making comparisons between one convention of union bosses and the daily lifestyles of corporate C-level officers? I have strong reservations about the EFCA, too, but this sort of blunt appeal to class envy is just embarrassing. It’s a losing argument, and it diminishes the strength of your case.
Brett Ratner. PDiddy. Good lord, it’s lame. They took celebrities from the early 2000s and made them seem decadent. It’s a fail, IMHO. I’m just glad they didn’t for the ‘jugular’ and show Ricky Martin at the pool, lapping it up, and drinking mojitos.
Okay, , but I do feel bad about the tone of this discussion. It’s old school and stupid. I’m also sad to see the money being spent on both sides.
Those were some weird throwbacks. I was half expecting Gene Simmons and Ron Jeremy to appear in the video. LOL.
Those chubby union guys are not easy on the eyes, by the way. Yuck.
LOL, Laurie. I have to say, if I want to see people at the Fountainblue, it ain’t union dudes in bad t-shirts. I want it to be me.
I just thought this one was funny…I like poking at things every once in a while…not in a Punk Rock HR kind of way…but fun all the same.
