Thinking about HR Rules
Sep 5You know what’s an easy way out for people? The phrase, “Rules are made to be broken.” Here’s what I say:
If you have an HR rule that is made to be broken, get rid of it. If you don’t enforce your policies fully and consistently, it’s not worth the paper it’s written on.

Amen, Frank. Also, the fewer the rules, the better.
I like rules…that are firm and evenly applied. But most of them are stupid…and fake.
Even average management trumps good rules.

I agree, every company has some HR policies that are really made to be broken. so it is better to get rid of such stupid rules.
