CareerTV Show Launches in April
Posted on Thursday, April 10, 2008 by Frank RocheI got a note from the folks at CareerTV announcing their new offering. I’ve thought these giys were interesting and modern in their approach to promote employer brands to potential hires on college campuses. Here’s what they said:
San Francisco, CA, April 9, 2008. – The CareerTV Top Diversity Employers episode hit air with features of Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, the US Department of State, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The show is broadcasting now and available on over 50 college campuses nationwide on cable, video on demand, and closed circuit TV. Full shows and segments are also available online at CareerTV.com.
Executive Producer, Sean OGrady, explains, Every company is going to claim that it embraces diversity, but with this show, we took a look under the hood of major employers to find out what they are really doing to create diverse environments.
The show features advice from Frank K. Ross, the first African American to be named Partner at a major accounting firm, and from actor Tom Hanks. The episode also features career experts answering user generated questions. Drexel University Career Services Director, Peter Franks, handled a volley of questions from students around the nation in the popular Mail Call, segment.

Good for them for actually “looking under the hood”. Prior to applying for jobs I always check out a company’s website and if they are public I also check them out on Hoover’s, Yahoo Finance and similar. You can learn so much about what they are NOT saying in their employment ads this way.

I checked out their site and it looks very well done. They put a lot into it. They seem to have built a ton of content even before they went live.
