Well to be honest I have some experiences with these so called jerks and the only rule that we can apply here is try to avoid them at all cost. If someone want to be bad he doesnt need a reason to be so.

Johny...I'm afraid you're right. Those types are dangerous...and to be avoided. I agree.

There are jerks out there, and I think Robert Sutton pegged them. I glad he called it for what it is. And you're right, they do take up a lot of our mindshare. The bad things about jerks, at least in my experience, is that ignoring them doesn't seem to work.

Yes, there are inconsiderate, annoying jerks out there sure, but they are a minority. They may seem like they’re everywhere (just read Bob Sutton’s excellent book The No Asshole Rule for some great examples), but that’s only because we tend to let annoying people take up more mindspace, making them more visible than their numbers warrant.

I have been intrigued by the problem of how to avoid accepting a new job in a jerk-infested organization, and I think I've found an excellent and unique way to avoid this costly and painful problem.

I just finished developing a website called www.ebosswatch.com that allows people to rate their current or former boss so that people who are considering a job change can search for bosses at potential workplaces and can receive reports detailing the ratings that each boss has received.

Bob Sutton, author of the best-selling book The No Asshole Rule, has called eBossWatch "fantastic, a great idea." I hope this helps some of you avoid jerk-infested workplaces.
