Creativity Stimulator: Tanaka’s Auto Door

Posted on Saturday, February 17, 2007 by Frank Roche

Sliding doors slide from one side to the other, right? Not necessarily. Tanaka’s Auto Door slides open in an approximation of of what’s passing through it. That’s some creativity. This would be a cool video to show at a kickoff of a brainstorming session.

(Found at Hrafn’s very creative blog, Inkblot Earth.)

Support this post around the web. We would really appreciate it.

It has cool factor up to here [gesture].
But I can imagine walking right into someone coming the other way. :P

And I hate strict pragmatists, but…
Do you imagine that the HVAC savings would be offset by the energy costs of the door itself?

Charlie, good point. I suppose they might need to do the door in acrylic so people don’t bump in…or they could have In and Out doors.

I don’t know about the HVAC. This is more aesthetics. I want one of these in my house. ;-) And Just because it looks cool!
