Words of Genius from Dilbert Author

Posted on Saturday, December 9, 2006 by Frank Roche

Dilbert IconScott Adams is a genius. Not only is he the author of Dilbert, the art that adorns more cubicles than can be counted, he’s also a very talented writer. (I’d guess more people have Dilbert comics up in their cubes than pictures of their family.) And in his article Acting Smarter Than You Are comes this gem:

It’s important to agree with people if you want them to think you are a genius. For most people, the definition of smart is‚ “Thinks exactly like me but even more so.”

There’s the consulting magic I was searching for! And, hey, you change management specialists, think about it: what do people really want? More of what they’re thinking…and then some.

I think Scott Adams is a genius!
Micro-management at all levels should be eliminated and in an effort to do this
managers at all levels in the corporate world (and other worlds) should be required to read them in an effort to learn how NOT to be like Dilbert’s pointy headed boss!!
The strips have brought so much laughter to people’s lives that Scott Adams should be given the “Nobel Laughter Prize”
