Silence Your Cell Phones…

Posted on Monday, November 27, 2006 by Frank Roche

..or they will be silenced for you. What presenter hasn’t had this “smash the cell phone” fantasy when phones ring right in the middle of a big point? And just how difficult is it to “silence your cell phones”? Here’s an idea for HR L&D: A training class on how to turn cell phones to silent. I’d personally fly around the country on my own nickel just to deliver that one.

Is it me, or are the vibrators in phone getting louder? I can hear a ’silenced’ phone from 30 feet away in a movie theater.

I think they are louder. I know at the ballet I can hear vibrating phones several times during a typical performance. I wonder what’s wrong when people can’t even go to entertainment and spend two hours without a call. Phones can be put on silent, too. It’s the whole thing about important versus urgent.

nice one….so the moral of the story is always remember to silent your phone.

By the way, i have had once a worse situation when i forgot to silent the phone during an interview and it rang in between and as usual i had to say the word “sorry”….. but still I did not get that job in spite of good interview at least i thought it was good.

Well, that’s definitely making a clear statement..lol. I don’t blame the professor. That student was rude to have not silenced his phone and then he had the nerve to answer his cell. Man!
