My current favorite article: Nine Things Developers Want More Than Money .
This is a fun read, with plenty of meat.

I am a software developer, and reading this made me realize some of my own motivations. Things that I hadn’t recognized about myself.

I imagine that many of these carry through to employees outside of software, and perhaps this could even guide hiring decisions…

Building something meaningful is so true in any profession. Yes, I kept reading even though I’m definitely not a programmer…but the ideas here are commutable. Great article.
