E-mail is for Old Fogeys
Posted on Thursday, October 5, 2006 by Frank RocheThis little nuggest was in an Ars Technica article called Teens: E-mail is for Old People by Nate Anderson:
According the [Pew Internet & American life study on teen Internet habits] report, “Teens who participated in focus groups for this study said that they view e-mail as something you use to talk to ‘old people,’ institutions, or to send complex instructions to large groups. When it comes to casual written conversation, particularly when talking with friends, online instant messaging is the clearly the mode of choice for today’s online teens.”
Just when you thought you were one of the cool kids, you find out that e-mail is so Barry Manilow, and instant messaging is, like, so Jay Z.
